A must read for autosomal testers

The FamilyTreeDNA (FTDNA) blog has a new post on understabnding and interpreting your Family Finder test results. Family Finder is the name of their autosomal test, and is akin to an Ancestry DNA test, a MyHeritage test, or a 23andMe test.

Excerpt: “With the Family Finder, you’ll receive a list of autosomal DNA matches. We compare your autosomal DNA to everyone else who has an autosomal test in our database and based on a proprietary algorithm that calculates the amount of DNA shared (both the longest block of DNA and the amount of centimorgans) between you and each person, we find and report to you other testers who share a common ancestor with you within about five to six generations on any ancestral line.”
