Like FTDNA’s other Time Trees, the new Match Time Tree shows your common genetic haplogroup ancestor and an approximate date of when that common ancestor may have lived.
The dating estimates will be more accurate than before as your Y-STR matches, that may or may not be related to you, have been removed form, the calculations.
The Tree is going to be updated weekly with new matches added and refined age estimates to help in your genealogical research.
Clicking on the icons brings up more detailed information on your matches.
So whether you are trying to break through a genealogical brick wall or attempting to confirm a family theory this new tool from FTDNA for BigY customers is a welcome addition.
