Now the first Cadet House of Clan Campbell. It has been traditionally been suggested by some that the Campbells of Craignish were not related to the Knights of Lochow (Lochawe). Most referred to them as Macdougall Campbells. The families own papers claimed they were descended from the Knights. Perhaps even more incredibly, from Archibald Campbell and Eva O’Duine themselves! While that debate is ongoing, it was revealed through BigY700 testing that the line of Craignish Cambells are descended from the Knights of Lochow. In fact two separate tests from cadets of Craignish made the case. Now a third has shown up. It turns out they descend from Dougald (Dougal), the alleged son of Sir Archibald and Eva O’Duine. The appellation had nothing to do with the Clan MacDougall.
