Archibald Campbell was born in 1684, the son of John Campbell of Sannaig and Bailie of Jura and Catheirne Campbell, the daughter of Colin Campbell, 5th of Lochnell. On March 13, 1721 Archibald married his first wife, Barbara, the eldest daughter of Archibald Campbell of Inverawe. They had the following children:

Barbara would pass away sometime before 1762 when, on April 23, 1762, Archibald married his second wife, Florence, the daughter of Lachlan MacLachlan of Strathlachlan. There were no children from this union. Archibald Campbell, 3rd of Jura, passed away in 1764 at the age of 80 years.
