Colin Campbell of Pitliver, served heir to his maternal grandfather Sir John Dempster who had d. on 2 May, 1703, in the lands of Pitliver on 19 April, 1704, and m. to Catherine, third daughter of William Nisbet of Dirleton, (c/m 22 December, 1722). He d. vitae patris and had issue.
