William Campbell, b. on 14 May, 1774, and was admitted a Writer to the Signet on 8 July, 1800. He m. firstly at Edinburgh on 31 December, 1803, to Eliza, daughter of William Hunter, of Glenormiston, (she d. on 26 October, 1818), secondly at Edinburgh on 23 October, 1820, to Jane, daughter of Hugh Cleghorn of Stravithie, and d. on 8 July, 1849.
