James Campbell, of Stronslanny, obtained these lands, attained the rank of Captain in the army and was court-martialled and dismissed in 1748 for having proposed to deul with Lieutenant MacLean. He m. to Mary, daughter of William Campbell, Minister of Balquhidder, (she was widow of John Campbell, in Auchinshecallan, by whom she had issue) and had issue.
